The first *real* concert I ever went to was Michael W. Smith.
First off — that’s very 90s/early 2000s for you and I’m showing my age, BUT…
Here’s the thing — when we got there, our sixth grade selves ready to PAR-TAY (kinda) with the big leagues (or so we felt), we didn’t have anything with us! 😱 Oh the horror to not have GUM. Seventh grade Courtney was devastated, and so were her friends who also didn’t have gum.
I’m still not entirely sure WHY we needed gum so badly, but it was a thing, and we were there for it…
BUT IN CAME MY FRIEND’S SUPERHERO MOM WHO HAD EVERYTHING WE COULD EVER POSSIBLY WANT IN HER BAG.
Gum? ✅
Mints? ✅
Earplugs? ✅
Tissues? ✅
Candy canes? Probably. It was December, and she was superwoman.
I’m telling you — it was akin to Mary Poppins’ bag of goodies, and us? We felt it.
So what was my takeaway that night as we waltzed out of the then-Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City? ALWAYS BE PREPARED.
It’s a Boy Scout term, but it works here too.
Always be prepared. And as a live painter? I’m sharing some of the most unique wedding venues in Oklahoma that will make you feel ABSOLUTELY prepared for your wedding day.
No. 1 Glass Chapel
The Glass Chapel in Tulsa is one of THE most uniquely beautiful wedding venues in all of Oklahoma.
It boasts GORGEOUS floor to ceiling windows that make you feel like you’re in nature without actually being in it. Seriously — it’s unreal beautiful.
It also has a gorgeous reception area, which not every venue has. It’s a great place to take advantage of being in the same space for both the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception.
Couples looking for a unique wedding venue in Oklahoma should definitely check out the Glass Chapel. It’s totally unique, totally elegant, and rain or shine your day will be absolute perfection.

No. 2 Civic Center Music Hall
I’ve talked about Civic Center Music Hall before, and it’s because it’s one of my all time favorite venues. It’s unique Art Deco look is totally different than most anything else available in Oklahoma City.
… Not to mention the history that surrounds the Civic Center, the ability to be downtown in OKC for sodreamy photographs, the color scheme of the Meinders Hall of Mirrors (the main ballroom) that goes with ANY color palette for your wedding, and the full wall windows that add beauty and light to your celebration, day or night.
If you are looking for a creative and lasting way to capture your big day, you cannot go wrong with Courtney Kibby Designs. She is very collaborative and will highlight the moment of your choosing. Plus, you get the ‘Wow’ factor of the final reveal of the painting. You will not be disappointed!

No. 3 The Mansion at Woodward Park
The Mansion at Woodward Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma is a gorgeous venue. Filled with large windows and a beautiful French-vintage feel, it’s the perfect location for a fine art wedding (or any wedding for that matter)!
Have your wedding outside and reception indoors or host a small but beautiful ceremony and reception inside the house. Truly, whatever you want with this venue is possible. It’s stunning.

No. 4 The Baumberhof
The Baumberhof in Edmond, Oklahoma is another gorgeous venue. It boasts the most beautiful outdoor space (see above for example!), has a beautiful chapel and dance hall.
It’s a replica of a 400-year-old German stone barn in Bavaria Germany — and each detail of the Baumberhof is exquisite.
No. 5 Bradford House, OKC
I had the opportunity to be part of a styled shoot —based on Emma by Jane Austen — at Bradford House in Oklahoma City, and it was truly one of the most unique locations I’ve ever been to.
Each bespoke detail adds character and a heaping spoonful of charm and ambiance to your day. Not to mention they have some killer cocktails 😍
Bradford House is such a beautiful and unique wedding venue — there are multiple rooms to choose from so your *vibe* can be met in many different ways, and it’s an iconic spot on OKC.
It’s the best of all the worlds — totally unique for a wedding, reception, engagement party, OR to sneak away between your wedding and reception and grab a quick drink with your *new spouse* … 🥂
No. 6 The Heritage, OK
The Heritage is one of the most beautiful locations in Oklahoma. It has the rustic barn feel that many Oklahoma brides are after, while still feeling incredibly elegant and timeless. The windows — okay yes, I have a thing for windows — are beautiful — am I right?!
And yes I absolutely have a thing for windows, and these are stunning.
BONUS No. 7 Pecandarosa Ranch
Another set of floor to ceiling windows?!
YUP!
Here’s why: I love Pecandarosa ranch because the windows reflect the light of the chandeliers no matter what time of day you get married. It’s stunning and makes for not only gorgeous photos, but a gorgeous painting (see below for evidence).
Pecandarosa Ranch is another venue where everything can happen in the same place. They have their beautiful chapel for the ceremony (seen above) and they have the perfect reception area where you can party all night long. If you’re wanting a big party, this unique venue in Oklahoma is absolute perfection.
The white walls also allow you to create the perfect palette for your own wedding day!
In this blog post we talked about SEVEN of the most unique wedding venues in Oklahoma, and by no means is this an exhaustive list, but it’s a perfect list to get your search started.
