Wait, personalize your wedding in the same place as a Ted Lasso reference? Absolutely, yes.
Are you sick of my Ted Lasso references yet?
Ted and Coach Beard enter the locker room of AFC Richmond for the first time …
Anyone who’s ever been in a locker room knows it’s stinky as all get out — and what does Ted say?
“Smells like potential.”
I love that quote for two reasons.
Ted’s positivity shines, which I think we all need a little more of…
and one of the reasons season 1 of Ted Lasso was so incredibly popular…
Ted also has a VISION for what can be.
Which made me think of this quote by Leonardo Da Vinci —
“The artist sees what others only catch glimpses of.”
Artists (or coaches, in Ted’s case) see things differently. I’m
And in this series, I’m sharing about why *THESE WEDDINGS* SHOULD HAVE A PAINTING.
Here’s part 1:

Sophia Bush and Grant Hughes Tulsa-centered Fairy Tale Wedding by Alison Events
As someone who doesn’t love the spotlight myself, I’m just in awe of the way Sophia Bush and Grant Hughes used their wedding to draw attention to all that’s happening in Tulsa — so much love and kindness.
So as a thank you from Tulsa, I wanted to paint something in return. And tell me this dress doesn’t deserve all the paintings 😍
Also I’m so obsessed with this dress I’m thinking about a vow renewal so I can wear Monique Lluillier 😍
And every detail by Alison Events is perfect — and deserves to be remembered through a painting.
TBH — every design by Alison should be painted and if you’re working with her, definitely consider hiring a live painter, and if you’ve already had her plan your wedding, let’s chat about a commission!

The Little Nell, Aspen by Bello and Blue Events
This wedding at The Little Nell by Bello and Blue Events DEFINITELY needs a painting.
The view is picturesque. And while having photos of it will be beautiful, a painting captures something entirely different. Imagine guests arrive at your house and see your painting years later — it’s fine art, but it’s personalized to your wedding.
Every detail —
from the view, the Monique Lhuillier dress, and the sheer JOY of the couple
— deserves to be captured in watercolor.

The Grand Del Mar, by Amorology
This stunning and colorful wedding planner by Heather Balliet of Amorology is truly one of a kind. Bride Cavin’s Marchesa Bridal dress is so unique and colorful, and was such a JOY to paint.
While this is not a new idea, what is fun to report is that it’s lasting! Couples are not shying away from color, but instead, we are seeing our couples embrace thoughtful color references through patterned textiles, illustrations, floral concepts, custom décor moments, and their bridal fashion.
-Augusta Cole
A trend that is here to stay in 2023 is COLOR.
Brides are not shying away from color and can use it in so many ways.
I love capturing a beautiful white classic Grace Kelly-style gown..
BUT bright colorful gowns and color palettes are so unique and fun. They definitely deserve a painting.

This chic and romantic wedding in Aspen, Colorado needs a painting. Each detail was perfectly curated, and the alpine backdrop is just exquisite.

Villa de Este in Lake Como, Italy with The Lake Como Wedding Planner
Any wedding in Italy deserves a painting — especially if it takes place in the classic and iconic Lake Como.
Many of the venues are works of art in and of themselves, and this Musea d’ Orsay garden is no different. Add in that this wedding was produced by the ever talented Lake Como Wedding planner, the gorgeous florals and overgrown aisle from Tulipina Designs —
It’s a total work of art!

San Miguel de Allende with Maye Cordova Eventos
This gorgeous wedding in San Miguel de Allende is full of color (hey 2023 trend!) and beautiful florals.
The JOY should be captured into a painting. What I love about this piece is that it looks like a regular painting you’d see at a gallery IMO, but when you get closer, you see that it’s a personalized piece that this couple will treasure forever! It’s an original piece — one-of-a-kind impressionist* painting using your clients’ vision, considering the overall aesthetic and love story, painted with the highest quality materials so it lasts for generations.
Talk about a compliment magnet!

Santa Rosa Beach, Florida with Easton Events
I love anything Easton Events produces.
I’m a sucker for a marquee wedding, and Dawson’s beautiful wedding in Florida is no exception. When I saw it on Over the Moon, I just knew it needed a painting. Her Carolina Herrera gown and details like the star chandeliers and climbing greenery make this wedding so unique.
I got to paint two pieces for this wedding, and
this one is my favorite. You can feel the happiness and excitement through the painting.
Positano, Amalfi Coast
I love how this overhead shot captures everything — even the iconic landscape of this venue on the Amalfi Coast.
Kate Upton and Justin Verlander’s Wedding, by Lisa Vorce
I especially loved the lighting in this beautiful tented reception. The way the light plays on the glass walls and around the room made this look magical.
I’ll say it again for the people in the back — if you want to personalize your wedding, hire a live painter. And I’d you’re already married? Let’s get you a commission of your wedding.
Personalize your Wedding and Create a Treasured Memory
In an article for Over the Moon, Augusta Cole says:
With Polaroids and all things from the ’90s making a comeback, everybody wants instant film at their reception,” Cole says.” Not only are they on-trend, but the white finish will also blend in seamlessly no matter what your wedding aesthetic.”
Just like Polaroids or instant film can personalize your day — who wouldn’t love seeing photos the guests take! (Reminds me of Monica and Chandler’s wedding way back around 2000)…
>>you can personalize your wedding by capturing the beautiful details you’re so excited about with a live wedding painting or a wedding commission.
A painting:
- Shows your guests that you want them to experience the moment with you, and while it’s not a memento for them to take home with them, you DO have the opportunity to create prints or notecards so each of your guests can enjoy the painting after your wedding day.
- Will leave your guests with a lasting memory of how special and unique your wedding day was, and believe me, they will tell you that time and time again post-wedding day!
- Can be curated to share the details you want, and none of what you don’t… i.e. a painting doesn’t have PHONES in it.
I care about the details the way you do.
It takes a cohesive team to create a painting so beautiful — one of the reasons each of these weddings SHOULD have a painting.
